A big part of what you get out of coming to Northfield Mount Hermon has to do with living at Northfield Mount Hermon. Our campus is spacious and breathtakingly beautiful. And while we’re close enough to big cities that you never feel out of touch, we’re far enough away to be sanctuary. You can stretch out here, both physically and intellectually.
Going to boarding school is the perfect way to strike out on your own without having to worry about being left alone. Our counselors—nicknamed DLs, after our founder, D. L. Moody—will always be there with good advice, whether it’s which course to take next semester, or to what clothes to wear to the dance.
Living in student housing, you’ll be surrounded by new friends from across the country and around the world. That camaraderie is so important that even day students are assigned to dorms, so they can participate in parties and study groups and even have a place to sleep on those days when there’s just too much going on to go home.
Food at NMH may be some of the freshest you’ve ever had. In fact, you might pick some of it yourself! Our working farm, run largely by students, produces vegetables and dairy products that stock our kitchen.
At NMH, we also watch over your health. Our health center, staffed by registered nurses, psychologists, and a physician, is open 24 hours a day.
You can get check-ups there or go in with any kind of emergency.
Simply put, you’ll feel safe here, learn a lot, and have fun. Come visit us and see.
